{"id":3690,"date":"2023-11-16T10:57:15","date_gmt":"2023-11-16T15:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/woodbine.com\/corporate\/2023\/11\/16\/woodbine-solidifies-racing-leadership\/"},"modified":"2024-11-20T11:15:12","modified_gmt":"2024-11-20T16:15:12","slug":"woodbine-solidifies-racing-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/woodbine.com\/corporate\/2023\/11\/16\/woodbine-solidifies-racing-leadership\/","title":{"rendered":"Woodbine Solidifies Racing Leadership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TORONTO, November 16, 2023 \u2013 Woodbine Entertainment\u2019s Bill Ford, General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Racing, announced today that Woodbine has solidified its racing leadership team with the promotions of Tim Lawson and Bill McLinchey to Vice President positions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tim Lawson<\/strong>\u00a0has been promoted to Vice President of Thoroughbred Racing and\u00a0<strong>Bill McLinchey<\/strong>\u00a0promoted to Vice President of Standardbred Racing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the last several years, Bill and Tim have been instrumental in the continued growth of our world-class racing programs,\u201d said Ford. \u201cThrough their leadership, racing knowledge and expertise, we are confident both will make major contributions towards Woodbine being a global leader in operating one of the safest and highest quality racing programs in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7913 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/woodbine.com\/corporate\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/1732\/19\/MixCollage-16-Nov-2023-10-02-AM-4563.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1440\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lawson has been an integral member of Woodbine\u2019s racing team for several years, most recently in the position of Director of Thoroughbred Racing.<\/p>\n<p>Lawson has spent considerable time studying and working at racetracks across North America, including stops in Western Canada and Kentucky. Lawson has held a variety of notable positions, including Project Manager for the construction of Edmonton\u2019s Century Mile, Racing Secretary, and Manager of Racing Development and Stabling Operations.<\/p>\n<p>McLinchey is approaching 20 years since originally joining Woodbine in the Standardbred Race Office.
