TJSF took first place and was awarded $7,500.00 after garnering more than 6,000 votes in a week-long online poll.<\/p>\n<p>The Charity Challenge is a highlight of Woodbine Cares Week, a 10-day celebration of the many valuable community organizations and causes that Woodbine Entertainment supports. Since 2014, Woodbine Entertainment has awarded more than $40,000 to winners of the Charity Challenge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful to have been included within this year\u2019s Charity Challenge,\u201d said Tiger Jeet Singh Jr., President, TJSF. \u201cI am humbled and would like to thank everyone who voted for us, which now will go a long way to assisting our efforts to putting smiles on children\u2019s faces over the winter holidays.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TJSF supports numerous local community organizations in Milton with a focus on underprivileged youth, cultural diversity, and healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, September 20 at the Woodbine Cares Community and Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, Tiger Jeet Singh Jr. announced that the donation will be used to support their popular annual fundraising tradition, the Miracle on Main Street Toy Drive. Funds raised through the event will be used to purchase toys for patients at SickKids and McMaster Children\u2019s hospitals in addition to helping children at Halton Women\u2019s Place and the Salvation Army to have a good winter holiday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate the opportunity to celebrate our employees and community partners who do so much to enrich our communities,\u201d said Jim Lawson, CEO, Woodbine Entertainment. \u201cThe Woodbine Cares Community and Volunteer Appreciation Dinner allows us to gather and recognize each other\u2019s achievements while being inspired by their incredible acts of generosity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Charity Challenge runner-up, Horizons for Youth, received a $2,500 donation from Woodbine Entertainment.
